Aphrodite, or Venus, was born from the foam of the sea, Aphros means sea foam. According to the story, Cronos, the god of time, would have thrown the testicles (nice Cronos!) Of his father Uranus, into the sea, creating the foam from which Aphrodite was born.
Aphrodite then appears in a pearl oyster conch and gives birth to Eros. This filiation gives the oyster its aphrodisiac properties. During this birth another legend takes shape, it is said that on leaving Aphrodite water would have shaken and would have thrown drops of water in the ocean. These would have become pearls. Greek mythology also compared pearls with the tears of the gods.
If mythology confers on the oyster aphrodisiac properties, due to this legend, the oyster contains in it answers much more down to earth.
